how does my child progress?
Each child is special and unique in their own way. Here at WDYC we focus on supporting progression when a child is ready to do. On average gymnasts tend to spend 12 months at minimum in a class prior to progressing. This is to give them enough time to master the skills on their report to the required standards.
Every term we do in class testing which is designed to observe when a child is ready physically and emotionally to progress to the next class in our recreational program. Testing is usually done on an advised week each term — reception will email details to all families each term. Please refer to our Calendar for the current testing weeks each term. Post testing weeks our team will send out your child’s progress report. We will then go through all of our gymnasts reports and identify gymnast who are ready to progress (usually when they are only missing 1-2 skills on the report card). If your child is ready to progress we will then contact you.
